INDIANAPOLIS, IN: February 18, 2008 – Local Financial Consultant Joel Harris with AG Edwards will be working in conjunction with the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to conduct a monthly workshop on the numerous benefits of retirement plans for closely held businesses.

The workshop is specifically designed for small business owners and professionals building their businesses. Lawyers, accountants, direct sales consultants, manufacturer’s representatives, sole-proprietors, and entrepreneurs will get an in depth look at why having a retirement plan can play a key role in attracting and retaining quality employees.

The first seminar will be held on Wednesday, February 20th from 6 pm – 8 pm at Central Indiana SBDC at 9301 E 59th Street in Indianapolis.

Retirement Plans for Closely Held Businesses will focus on the following:

 h How to select the best plan design to meet your business’ specific needs.

 h The power of tax-deferred compounding interest.

 h The differences between Simple IRAs, SEP IRAs, Safe Harbor 401(k), Regular 401(k), Roth 401(k), 403(b) plans, Defined Benefit plans, Profit Sharing plans, Cash Balance plans, and Owner only 401(k) plans.
