Rainmakers Announce Winners of 5th Annual Rainmaker of the Year
Awards
Award Recognizes Contributions of Members Who Consistently
Live the Core Values of the Organization
INDIANAPOLIS, IN: January 30, 2008 - Rainmakers, Indiana’s fastest
growing business association, announced the winners of its 5th
annual Rainmaker of the Year Awards Tuesday evening at the Knights
of Columbus in Indianapolis. The presentations made by Rainmaker
founder, Tony Scelzo and President Lorraine Ball recognized the
contributions of members who consistently live the core values of
the organization.
Cindy and Mike Hartman of Hartman Inventory Systems were nominated
both individually and as a team by their peers. They were presented
with the prestigious 2007 Rainmaker of the Year award at an award
ceremony held at the Knights of Columbus on Tuesday, January 29th.
“The selection process was extremely difficult this year with so
many qualified candidates,” said Lorraine Ball. “Cindy and Mike
emerged as our first choice because of their unwavering dedication
to the organization. Contributing both individually and as a team
they have been a cornerstone of our growth activities in the last
year.”
“As an organization we are richer because of Mike and Cindy’s
contributions,” said organization founder, Tony Scelzo. “Because of
their commitment to serving others in true Rainmaker style, they
have been an inspiration to all of us.”
In addition to the annual Rainmaker of the Year Award, three
additional awards, The Golden Boomerang, Rookie of the Year and a
new Rainmaker Share award were presented.
Michelle Urban, Today’s Staffing, was honored with the 2007 Golden
Boomerang Award, recognizing her long-term involvement with the
organization.
Jacob King, Eaglepoint Golf Course, who has been a member less than
a year, was selected as 2007 Rookie of the Year Award by the
Rainmakers chairs.
Cathy Langham, Langham Transport, who is not a member of Rainmakers
was honored with the first ever, Share Award.

About Cindy Hartman: Cindy co-founded Hartman Inventory with her
husband, Mike, in 2004. In addition to providing their asset
documentation service to local residential and business customers,
they have recently launched a mentoring program nationally to help
other entrepreneurs become independent inventory service providers.
Active in the local business community, Cindy attends a variety of
networking events throughout the Indianapolis area, is a member of
the Hendricks County Professional Business Women’s Association,
founder of Indy West Networkers and serves as Vice President -
Chapter Development for Rainmakers.
About Mike Hartman: Mike Hartman co-founder of Hartman Inventory, an
asset documentation firm that serves residential and commercial
customers throughout Central Indiana. Established in 2004, he and
his wife Cindy provide photographic and detailed written reports for
disaster preparedness and estate planning, along with many other
purposes.
In addition to Rainmakers, Mike is a member of the Avon American
Legion and Carmel Sertoma.
About Michele Urban: As Branch Sales manager at Today’s Staffing,
Michele Urban is an extremely client focused and dedicated
professional. Urban has been with Today’s Staffing for seven years
and has worked in both the permanent placemen St. Mary’s College,
Notre Dame University. A long time Rainmaker, Michele was a member
of the original board, president’s advisory board and today serves
as a member on the advisory board of the Rainmakers hub downtown.
Active in the local community Michele has been a volunteer
coordinator for the Indy 500 Festival Parade as well as her role in
Rainmakers.
About Jacob King: With a degree in Management from Purdue
University, Jacob King, has worked in the hospitality industry for
over 10 years. As the Sales Director for Eagle Pointe Golf Resort,
he coordinates the sales of the golf course, lakeside condominiums,
banquet and meeting space, and catering services.
At Purdue, Jacob was heavily involved in competitive sports and the
Co-ed Professional Business Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, as well as
several honorary societies. Currently, Jacob is actively engaged in
the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, volunteering for both
the Golf Fundraiser Committee and the Franklin Initiative. In
addition, he has been committed to the network marketing industry
since college, and is presently an independent associate with
Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.
As a rookie, Jacob is relatively new to Rainmakers but has stepped
in as chairman for the Bloomington hub.
About Cathy Langham: A graduate of Indiana University, Cathy Langham
today serves as the President and CEO of Langham Logistics, one of
Indiana’s largest locally based firms. Actively engaged in the
business community, she is a vocal supporter of the state’s
transportation, distribution and logistics industries, serving as
spokes person in local and national firms.
Exuding Rainmaker values, Cathy is most well known for networking
her way to the President of the United States.
