Riviera Club Celebrates Its Rich Past and Vibrant Future with
a
Fashion Show Luncheon
“Splash of Spring” on Friday April 18 to Benefit Indianapolis Adult Day Service
Joy House
Indianapolis, IN: March 25, 2008 – Splash into the latest spring
colors at The Riviera Club’s upcoming fashion show luncheon on
Friday, April 18 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Club’s main
dining room. Building on its historic roots, The Riviera Club will
be the place to preview the newest fashion trends of the year.
The 2008 event marks a return to the Club’s history of providing
a traditional fashion show luncheon on the Indianapolis north side.
The Riviera Club, which this year is celebrating its 75th
anniversary, was host to numerous fashion shows in its earlier
years. “In by-gone eras ladies from throughout the city would mark
the beginning of warm weather and a return to our outdoor pool
season by attending fashion shows at The Riviera Club, said Maureen
Faul, 75th Anniversary History Book Committee Chair. “We invite
everyone in Indianapolis to join us for a lovely afternoon of
contemporary fashion, delicious food, wine and good friends as The
Riviera Club splashes into its next 75 years,” said Faul.”
Spring clothing and accessories will be provided by The Secret
Ingredient, Contemporary Woman’s Fashions and Accessories just a
block away from the Riviera Club on Illinois St. G. Thrapp Jewelers,
also in the neighborhood, will adorn the fashion show models with
diamonds commemorating the Club’s 75th anniversary. Both vendors
will have items available for purchase.
All are welcome to catch the wave of excitement by attending the
Riviera Club’s Splash of Spring Fashion Show Luncheon. Tickets may
be purchased by calling The Riviera Club at 255-5471.
Individual tickets are $33 per person. Corporate tables are
available as well at $233 for six people or $333 for eight people.
Reservations will be accepted through April 14th.
Net proceeds from the fashion show luncheon will be divided
between two worthwhile causes. The Riviera Club has named Joy’s
House Not-For-Profit Elder Day Care as the main beneficiary of the
event. “Joy’s House is a special place on Indianapolis’ North side
that offers aging adults and individuals with mental and physical
challenges day services in a friendly, positive community
atmosphere,” said Marlene Hatch, Membership and Marketing Director
for The Riviera Club. “The Riviera Club is pleased to join forces
with Joy’s House and feels a connection in our philosophies of
celebrating everyday life and family through services we both offer
the community.” Funds collected for Joy’s House will provide Guest
Scholarships to their center. Remaining proceeds will go toward a
special 75th Anniversary Fund at The Riviera Club for restoration of
historic photos and memorabilia acquired over the past eight
decades.
Master of Ceremonies for the special event is local on-air radio
personality Terri Stacy of WIBC 93.1 FM Morning News. Featured
models for the fashion show come from the Riviera Club’s
neighborhood Community Partners including the Meridian Kessler
Neighborhood Association, Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood
Association, Broad Ripple Village Neighborhood Association and AYS
(At Your School) After School Program. The luncheon menu will be
created by Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering, The Rivera Club’s on-premise
caterer.
The Riviera Club is a family-oriented private swim, recreation
and social club located in the heart of the historic Indianapolis
north side. Its doors and pools first opened to members in summer
1933. Multiple events will be hosted throughout 2008 celebrating The
Riviera Club’s Diamond 75th Anniversary. Today the club serves over
1,500 member families in Indianapolis with aquatic programs, swim
team, tennis, recreational activities, family dining and a multitude
of social events. The Riviera Club offers one of the largest outdoor
pools in Indiana, along with indoor pool facilities, gym, fitness
center and outdoor tennis courts. New members are always welcomed.
The Riviera Club prides itself on its family-friendly programming
and sense of community amongst its members.
