Ruby Appointed to Indianapolis/Marion County Information
Technology Board
Board to Review IT Vision of Information Technology Governance Process
INDIANAPOLIS, IN: March 6, 2008 - Jennifer Ruby, Esquire,
has been appointed by the City-County Council to serve on the City
of Indianapolis and Marion County Information Technology Board.
City-County Councillor and Chair of the Council’s Administration
and Finance Committee, Marilyn Pfisterer nominated Ruby to serve on
the Information Technology Board. Her nomination was approved by the
Administration and Finance Committee on the evening of Tuesday,
February 12, 2008. At Monday night’s City-County Council Meeting,
the Council approved Ruby’s appointment to the Information
Technology Board. Ruby will be sworn in tomorrow morning before her
first Information Technology Board Meeting at 8:30am.
The City of Indianapolis/Marion County City-County Council set up
an Information Technology (IT) Governance process through General
Ordinance 202.1995. Its functions include the creation of the
Information Technology Board. The IT board meets monthly to review
the IT vision of the enterprise and is comprised of individuals who
represent City Departments, County Agencies, and citizens from the

Ruby has a strong background in IT, starting with her Bachelor’s
in Science from Purdue University. From there, she served on State
internal workgroups determining desktop standards, and later, on
national workgroups with the federal government and the other states
determining data exchange and integration standards. She was a
member of City-County’s Information Services Agency’s executive
management from 2001 to 2004. Ruby has continued her interests in
the technology field through her peers in the industry, bar
association workgroups, managing her firm’s wireless network and
mobile office platforms, as well as through her technology clients.
Ruby is the attorney-owner of Ruby Law, a firm that focuses on
real property, probate, trusts and small business advice. Ruby has
been recognized for her community, civic and business leadership.
She won the Indiana Commission for Women’s Torchbearer Award for
Entrepreneurship in 2006 and Junior Achievement’s Indy’s Best and
Brightest for Law in 2007. Ruby is also a 2006 graduate of Richard
G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series and a 2004 graduate of
the Indiana Leadership Forum. She lives with her husband Michael P.
